Harald Stock is a healthcare entrepreneur, investor, board director and serial CEO. He is a German national who lives in Park City UT, U.S.A.

In his prior life he was a national level ski racer, collegiate tennis player, and an elite level triathlete who represented his country in three world championships between 1992 and 1998.

After obtaining his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Heidelberg University in 1997, he spent over ten years in Big Pharma / Med. Tech. at Roche and Johnson & Johnson. Before he left Roche he was the Senior Vice President of the Global Near Patient Testing Business, and at Johnson & Johnson he was Chairman & Managing Director at DePuy International, their Orthopedics division.

Since then Harald became an active investor occasionally taking on operational roles in mid-cap and small-cap companies.

From 2009 to 2013 he was CEO of Germany-based Grünenthal Group which under his leadership became global No. 2 pain spec. pharma company.

2014 he took over Sweden-based ArjoHuntleigh, a global leader in caregiver equipment for patients with reduced mobility, as CEO. He lead the company to a three-way merger in late 2015.

2016 as CEO of Waltham, MA based OvaScience (NASDAQ: OVAS) he lead the company to a strategic pivot point.

Since 2012 he has been a Managing Partner at SB Vermögensverwaltungs KG and at Alta Life Science LLC. Alta Life Science is the U.S. entity responsible for SB Vermögensverwaltungs KG’s US investments, a family trust domiciled in Germany, that invests in early-stage healthcare and life sciences startups. Harald has been a board member or advisor and investor at ConforMIS (NASDAQ: CFMS), Paion AG (XETRA: PA8.DE), Orthimo AG, OvaScience (NASDAQ: OVAS), Flex Pharma (NASDAQ: FLKS) and ClaimIt!.

Harald currently is a board member at Tübingen GER & Houston TX based Immatics Biotechnologies, a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company; at Cambridge MA based Quantum Diamond Technologies, a development-stage in-vitro-diagnostics platform startup; a strategic advisor at Vitanova Biomedical, a San Antonio TX based pre-IND stage nano-particle cancer treatment startup, and at ClaimIt!, Inc., a revenue stage New York City based tech startup; and he is the co-founder of CognifiSense, a Silicon Valley based Virtual Reality Pain Therapy startup.
